Oh boy it’s been a while since I have sat down to write—two weeks?? I’m probably gonna do a London post and then a first week in Alicante post, so welcome to the LONDON EDITION WOO

We got to London really late at night on a Tuesday night after leaving Gotland. Got into our Hostel and the adventures began…
Had a beer in the hostel bar
Men were mildly creepy and insisted on helping us and we thoroughly told them no
Danced a lil
Went to sleep in our triple bunk bed in a mixed 12 bed dorm
I was the middle bunk, hanna on top, and SNORING MAN (SM) in the bottom
snoring man started snoring so I shimmied the bed to wake him up so swe could sleep finally
woke up, hostel breakfast (lame)
hostel bathroom = tiniest showers and sinks that have ever existed
went to pret a manger SO many times because I love Pret with my whole heart
Hanna is pret-neutral
Saw Simon Cowell?? At the coffee shop by the Serpentine??? So random
Took the tube east for sightseeing
Hyde Park!
Nottinghill!
Buckingham Palace (all blocked off because the queen died)
Westminster Abbey & Palace
Trafalgar Square
Floral tributes to queen Elizabeth (she died, see above)
Soho
Piccadilly circus
Had dinner with my ex-boyfriend Gabe!
Hanna had never met him so that was exciting
Had a lovely meal and convo and he reminded me that not all men are worthless

They tried to feed me cheese but Gabe told the waiters no don’t do that
Wine!
He paid for everything like the true posh brit he is <3
Went back to the hostel bar and drank and danced
Hanna met Emilio, an older Brazilian dog walker who then fell in love with her and has texted her since
Woke up after SM mysteriously left in a suit early in the am and our chargers stopped working??
More sightseeing!
British museum
The one that stole a bunch of stuff—but the exhibits were pretty forthright about that so at least that’s minimal progress

Waterloo (couldn’t escape if I wanted to woah woah woah woah)
Pubs with Nebbies!!
She just moved to London for vet school starting this week!!
Went to a beer garden and then a pub with live music
Ben, who was fifty and *not gay* gave me a hug and made fun of us for being from California

SM snored some more but we noticed that when he was home, the chargers worked but when he left, they didn’t…
Got free ear plugs from the hostel tho!
Hanna had gotten a bit sick in Gotland and was coughing a lot in the mornings, poor girly
Woke up, went on a train journey to Oxford!
Really pretty! Churches! Schools! Random graduation in September!
Returned home for a cheap microwave dinner and 1 pound canned cocktailed from Lidl
There were absolutely no chairs in the upstairs of the hostel near the microwave so we ate on the stairs next to this beardy man… a lil awk and uncomfy
Also one of the insistent helping dudes came back to talk to us again ugh
We made a friend!! Two actually! A girl came into our dorm and I was like “omfg thank god a girl” and then we were buddies
Went out!! First to downstairs
We met two kiwis and an Irishman
All very friendly, probably late 20s early 30s
One was a scuba instructor turned builder he bought us drinks
All were definitely on drugs of some kind
Then went to infernos, a big club with throwback hits
Definitely our age range
I Fell In Love In The Club ™
His (I know, it turns out I am bi I just don’t like American men… oops) name was Luke
He played frisbee and loved abba and was tall
He had friend James who Hanna got with
Tequila shots as always <3
Stayed up with our men in infernos until like 4, then went home to SM, and mysteriously the chargers were on again (by this point we KNEW it was SM somehow fucking them up)
Next morning probably went to Pret
Oh, I ate lots of yummy vegan donuts from Crossroads all week they fucking slapped
Vegan food in London was pretty great
Went to play frisbee in Hyde Park, yay!
Taught Hanna how to throw and she’s a fucking natural
Went to see The Book of Mormon
SO FUCKING FUNNY I recommend to anyone who likes laughing
Still singing “joseph smith, don’t fuck a baby!”
Came home, went to bed, woke up at 3 am for a terrible journey to Alicante lmao buuuut that will have to wait until the next post!!!!

Sonic got a kitten named Melvin who is fucking adorable but likes to hang out at 3 am, hopefully he has adjusted a bit more and bonc can sleep <3

Harley is in Baltimore and realizing that Baltimore is... not LA. But having a blast with a man named Butterfingers
